Dr Seán J Slaght

Seán Slaght has been a Consultant Neurologist at the Wessex Neurological Centre, University Hospital Southampton and Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth since 2014. He has an interest in all areas of Neurology and special interest in Epilepsy.

He went to medical school in Cardiff, with time out for a research PhD into the cellular mechanism of absence epilepsy. Subsequent clinical training was in Cardiff, London and Southampton. He undertook a post training advanced fellowship post in complex epilepsy at King’s College Hospital prior to taking up his consultant post.

He is Governance lead for Neurosciences at the University Hospital Southampton. He is active in research, recruiting to multiple trials and a medical advisor to the quarterly epilepsy educational journal Epilepsy Professionals.
