Mr Richard Howard

Richard Howard has been a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist for 25 years working at Queen’s Hospital Romford and King George Hospital Ilford (Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust). His qualifications are MD (University of London) and FRCOG.

The Trust delivers 7000-8000 women annually and is one of the largest maternity services in London. His interests have been in labour ward management and medical disorders of pregnancy. Over the years he has had Trust roles of Labour Ward Lead, Clinical Director, Divisional Medical Director and Associate Medical Director.  He was a member of the Maternal Morbidity and Mortality working group (NHS London Clinical Network) reviewing maternal deaths in London from 2015-2018. He completed the Capsticks Diploma in Clinical Risk and Claims Management in 2019/2020.  He retired from active clinical practice in March 2023.
