Dr Lawrence Miall MMBS BSc MMedSci MRCP FRCPCH
Dr Lawrence Miall has been a Consultant Neonatologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since 2002. He graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1992 and completed postgraduate training in London and Yorkshire. The Leeds Neonatal Service is the regional surgical and cardiac NICU for the Yorkshire & Humber region. Dr Miall has previously been Lead Clinician for NICU as well as holding education, training and quality improvement roles within the Neonatal Network. He was until recently governance and mortality lead for the Leeds Children’s Hospital. He has been the departmental lead for reporting to the National Neonatal Audit Project and MBRRACE and has a longstanding interest in risk management and patient safety. He is currently neonatal lead for the Yorkshire and Humber Congenital Cardiac Network. He is an instructor and course director on the Resuscitation Council UK Neonatal Life Support course. He is the author of three Paediatric and neonatal textbooks. He is currently the Neonatal Safety Champion for his trust and has undertaken several mortality reviews within the trust over the years as well as external clinical case reviews for HM Coroner and for other NHS trusts in the region. He was a member of the independent team Review of care at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust.
