Dr Steve Thomas

As a current Consultant Obstetric Anaesthetist in a busy tertiary centre at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Steve work as part of an open and cohesive team alongside midwifery staff and Obstetricians. All three of his children were born on this unit.

With an established background of Clinical governance roles within this department and integration of a gap analysis based on the original Ockenden report into our department, he feels incredibly privileged to assist in this review of maternity services at Nottingham Hospitals NHS Trust. Steve  hopes that his contribution helps to establish any learning points and recommendations to provide the highest quality of patient care both in Nottingham  and  in maternity services across England.
