Katherine Johnson
Originally from South Wales, Katherine qualified from Oxford and St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1995 and started her obstetrics and gynaecology training in 1996. She completed her specialist training in West Yorkshire, working in a number of district general and teaching hospitals.
In 2006, she became a full time NHS consultant at Harrogate District Hospital. Her interests are high-risk pregnancy and working with women with diabetes in pregnancy. She has previously been the lead clinician for labour ward and clinical lead for the department, with a focus on managing risk with the multidisciplinary team. She spent a number of years as the training director for second year doctors at the trust, supporting them to complete their foundation training and prepare for training in specialties.
Katherine is also Clinical Director for Planned and Surgical Care in Harrogate, a senior clinical role responsible for providing safe and effective services across all surgical specialties and theatre.
