Wendy Randall

Wendy graduated as a nurse in Dundee and subsequently qualified as a midwife in 1996 from University of Southampton. Her Master’s degree is in Public Health and Leadership. In her capacity as a midwife, she has worked in primary and secondary care in a variety of roles including 10 years as a consultant midwife within a tertiary maternity unit as well as 18 months leading the avoiding brain injury in childbirth (ABC) programme for the Royal College of midwives.

Wendy has been recognised nationally for fetal monitoring- specifically intermittent auscultation (IA) and its contribution to midwifery education. Wendy is the co-author of the E-learning for health programme on intelligent IA, written a chapter in Gibb and Arulkumaran fetal monitoring book (2023) and was the midwifery lead for Saving Babies Lives care bundle3, element 4.

Wendy is currently a Director of Midwifery and is passionate about providing a safe, high quality maternity service with women and families at the heart of their care.
