Dr Claire Hein
Dr Claire Hein graduated from University College London and Leicester-Warwick Medical School and started training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007. She has trained in hospitals across the West Country including Bristol, Bath, Exeter and Plymouth. She started work as a consultant at Plymouth University Hospitals NHS Trust in 2019.
Her interests include management of high risk labour ward patients, fast track gynaecology, and is the Clinical Lead for undergraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Plymouth Medical School.
She is currently involved in a number of projects aimed at improving quality of care in pregnancy. These include easier access to postnatal contraception and optimizing the diagnosis and management of women with pre-eclampsia. She has been writing obstetric risk reviews since 2015 and is passionate about multi-disciplinary learning from them.
Outside of work, Claire is a mum and wife, she is also a very keen swimmer and avid reader.
