Susan Gibson

Sue Gibson is a highly experienced dual registered nurse and midwife with a varied midwifery career covering community and hospital settings. She has progressed her midwifery career with varied opportunities culminating with currently employed as Director of Midwifery & Nursing in a large Teaching Hospital with Professional and managerial responsibility for Women’s and Children’s services.  Sue supports the Executive Team at Board level to be informed and gain assurance regarding maternity and children’s services, whilst also acting as an advocate for families and staff.

Sue is passionate about championing women’s health, choice, voice and right to enable and influence improvement in services.   She is active within the region and the local maternity and neonatal system with particular interest in leadership, quality, safety and driving service improvement through innovation and service user empowerment and involvement.
