Gill Allen
Gill Allen is the Community Matron at Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust. She trained and has worked at Portsmouth since commencing her career in midwifery nearly twenty five years ago. She spent two years working as a rotational midwife before transferring full time to the community. She became a Supervisor of Midwives and trained as a Newborn Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) practitioner before taking up the role as a Clinical Lead Midwife at the local stand alone maternity centre. In 2020 she became the Community Matron for Maternity Services and set up four successful continuity of care teams. She is and has always been, devoted to providing a high standard of safe, individualised care to all those who access the service.
