Jayne Jempson

Jayne Jempson, RN, RM, BSc, MSc

Jayne is an experienced nurse, midwife, manager and leader with over 40 years’ experience in the NHS. She trained as a nurse in Guildford and worked in an orthopaedic setting in Southampton before commencing midwifery training in Portsmouth. She spent a number of years providing clinical management, Supervision and professional leadership in the labour ward environment and was a member of the first NICE Intrapartum Guideline Development Group.

Jayne has held appointments as Consultant Midwife and Head of Midwifery in several NHS Trusts, before commencing her current role in operational hospital management for Women’s and Children Care Group at Portsmouth, supporting midwifery, gynaecology and paediatric services. Her specific areas of interest and expertise include patient safety and outcomes, patient experience, governance and medical workforce deployment.
